You’ve passed the Notary test, taken your oath and filed your bond. Now what? How do you know exactly what to do when a friend or co-worker wants something notarized? Are you merely required to verify the identity of the signer or are you also responsible for the legality in the wording of the form itself? If you create a form, does it need witnesses?
You can benefit from our Notaries’ years of experience by working with them at one of our locations inside SEARS. We handle quite a few vehicle title transfers and know which forms are required for special types of sales, such as the sale of a vehicle when the owner is deceased. We notarize Lien Waivers, Medical Consent Affidavits, Paternity Acknowledgements, Spousal Consent forms, Mortgages, Forgery Affidavits and Interrogatories, just to name a few.
This is your opportunity to learn first-hand how to examine a document to determine just what is required from you, the Notary. After working with us and having real clients with real documents, you will be confident and ready the next time someone asks you to notarize their signature.
This service is offered by appointment only. You must hold a valid Notary commission which covers East Baton Rouge Parish. We request a copy of your commission and your Notary bond. Forms will be provided to you after you complete your hands-on training. These include the standard Bill of Sale, Act of Donation, basic Affidavit, Limited Power of Attorney and a few more to help you get started.
